Read Someone Else's Diary!
Host
Shirley Bragg
There was time when reading someone's diary meant that you were taking your life into your own hands. If you got
caught, the consequences were not even worth thinking about.
But, for some reason, that's not the case anymore. People are actually posting their diaries for everyone to read! In fact,
they want you to read them. So, here's your chance to peek into some diaries that I have found online, and you don't have
to worry about getting caught. Nobody is going to ground you or take away your allowance. Promise!
Howard Carter's Personal Diaries of the First Excavation Season in the tomb of Tutankhamun
Follow along behind Carter while he searches for long lost tombs of ancient pharoahs. A lengthy and very interesting
account of what it must have been like not to know what you will find next.
The Shower Stall Diaries
If you remember your college days, you might recall that there wasn't a lot of time when you were all alone with your
thoughts. Someone was always dropping by, there were classes to attend, papers to write, it just went on and on.
But in the shower, things were different. You were all alone and when you were lathering your hair, you could actually
think about your life, what was good about it, and what you would love to change. That is exactly what you will find here
at "The Shower Stall Diaries."
Hurricane Andrew-A Personal Journal
Most of us can only imagine what it must be like to live through a hurricane. Now you can experience what it was like
thanks to this diary. Imagine what it would be like to sit in the middle of your house as pieces of it are literally blowing
away. A truly frightening account that you won't likely forget.
Diary of a Mystic Detective
Daily thoughts, coincidences, dreams and mysteries is what this diary is all about. The time span covered is about a year,
and each page offers something a little different. In fact, I was never sure what I was going to find next. If nothing else,
each page gave me pause to consider what had been shared. A little different from what I have offered so far in this tour
but unusual enough that I just had to add it.
The Secret Government
A fascinating account of what the government has been covering up with regard to aliens and their arrival some 40 years
ago. Read what William Cooper has to say and decide for yourself. It makes you wonder how so much could be going
on right under our noses, yet we know nothing about it. The scary thing about this is that it sounds plausible.
A Soldier's Journal
Here is an interesting journal written by…yes another man! The journal starts on July 20, 1997 when he and the soldiers
of the 139th leave North Carolina for Bosnia. What is especially interesting about this journal is how easy it is to see
the country through the eyes of another. So what must it be like for a soldier away from home? This journal will give
the highlights of the good and the bad.
Diary of a New Mother
This site will make you laugh, make you cry and bring back lots of memories. Follow expectant mother Christina
through her diary entries, starting with the moment when she suspected that maybe a little one was on the way, up to the
present where the little one is now into the terrible two's. (Mom's words, not mine).
Christina is so talented, she will bring back memories of your own children at that age, and make you wish you had
started a diary of your own for your children, so that someday you could look back and remember all of those cute little
things that they did.
A Writer's Musings
Have you ever wondered about the life of a writer, what her typical day is like. Well, visit this site and read her diary. It's
hectic, but it's just the way she likes it. I should know -- it's my diary!
The Secret Diary
After reading all of these diaries, have your decided that it's time for you to start one of your own? This site lays it out
for you step by step. What kind of pen to use, the sort of book you might prefer, etc. There is even a listing of books
that discuss the craft of journalling. But that's not all, there's a mailing list that you can subscribe to as well.
So what's the downside of journalling? Yes, there is one surprisingly enough. You can't claim your 5th Amendment
rights. What you write in your journal CAN be used against you!
