Is there someone at your house who can't get enough of Tommy, Angelica, Little Bear, or Blue? Then there are some
sites on the Internet that would definitely interest you.
My kids love Nickelodeon programs and so do I. Of course, Nickelodeon, a network which focuses on kids' TV, has its own web site, but there are other (unofficial) sites
which have a lot to offer.
The Unofficial Rugrats Online is a great site for older children and adults, because it is
full of detailed information about such things as animation, characters, and story continuity. (When you've seen each
episode countless times, you WANT to know these details!)
This site has character descriptions, other TV and movies credits of the voice actors, and a complete episode guide. Also,
you can find information about Rugrats' international broadcasts, books, and its new comic strip.
One recently launched web site is WWW.COOLTOONS.COM,
, a site by the creators and producers of Rugrats. The Rugrats area has several activities. At
"Meet the Rugrats" you can click onto a character to hear each say various phrases.
Next, you can make "Your Own Rugrats Adventure" (from the choices offered) - this opportunity should be particularly
appealing to kids. After that, you can go to the coloring page section where you can print pages depicting scenes from the
upcoming Rugrats movie.
WWW.COOLTOONS.COM also features other Klaspy-Clupo productions broadcast on Nick, such as AAAHH!!! Real
Monsters and The Wild Thornberrys.
Call your preschooler over to the computer, because there are also some great Blue's Clues sites. The Unofficial Blue's
Clues web site has pictures, FAQs, sound wavs, and coloring pages. There's
also a brief commentary for parents discussing some of the technical aspects of the show.
At Willie's Blue's Clues Page
, you can join the Unofficial Blue's Clues Fan Club and receive a monthly
newsletter Containing information and opinions about the show, as well as updates about Blue's merchandise.
Both the newsletter and the site offer party and activity ideas from other fan club members. This site also features many
fun print-outs such as connect-the-dots, mazes, and word puzzles.
Another Nick Jr. favorite is Little Bear, a sweet show based on the Minarik/Sendak books. At Little Bear's Page,
, there's a complete list of episodes and descriptions of some
favorite episodes. There's a note here that says that Little Bear coloring pages will be added soon.
Don's Hey Arnold Page
has a character list (including episode appearances), an episode guide, and a list of actors.
There's also a feature called "Questions You Didn't Know You Wanted to Ask" where you can find the lyrics to many
songs from the show, including the dialogue/lyrics to "What's Opera?" There are also answers to such questions as..."Does
Arnold wear a kilt?" (No, he doesn't. He wears a very long shirt.)
Antony's Nickelodeon Page
covers a broad range of Nick programming, with various links for Nicktoons, SNICK, Nick Jr., and "other Nick shows"
such as Clarissa Explains it All and The Secret World of Alex Mack.
The Nicktoons links include ones for Kablam!, Action League Now, AAAHH!!! Real Monsters!, and Angry Beavers.
There's also a message board for (young) fans to exchange comments.
These are a few of my family's favorites. There are, of course, many more sites devoted to Nickelodeon programs and
they can be found through the recommended links and web rings of the sites that I have mentioned. I hope your family
will enjoy them too!
