Whether you believe or not, ghosts are an interesting
topic around the campfire. I can't imagine a hot summer night sitting
around the tent without the pleasure of hearing a tale or two. I find
the whole concept of ghosts and life after death extremely intriguing.
Evidently others do too, because I found lots of information online about the
subject. Some of the encounters described at these sites were quite believable
and I found myself glancing over my shoulder a few times while reading. Judge
for yourself as you take my web tour. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Ghosts of the Prairie
At first glance, this site appears to be just another bookstore. However, it
is much more than that. You will find articles, upcoming conference information,
a free newsletter called Ghost of the Prairie (sign up required) and a bulletin
board where you can meet others who have experienced ghostly encounters.
Ever wonder why ghosts wear clothes? Read webmaster Troy Taylor's theory. Get
ready to join the American Ghost Society and reap the benefits.
At the bookstore you can order books which outline hauntings of the state you
live in. Battlefield Ghosts, paranormal magazines, used books, Ghost Hunters
Guidebook all explore the haunted history and highways; read about ghost
research and investigations.
Ghost Watcher
June Houston is "the girl with no life" as it states in her bio. She is also
a girl who says her house is haunted and she wants you to help. June has set up
video cameras where she thinks the hauntings are taking place throughout her
home. These are the places that make her most uncomfortable because of strange
noises she's heard.
June wants volunteer ghost watchers and asks that the kind people on the web
watch her ghost cams, and then write and tell her if they see anything weird
going on.
Ghost Seeker
Established in Toledo, Ohio, Ghost Seeker is becoming increasingly popular
worldwide. This association helps people in need of documenting and recording
ghostly experiences.
Read true accounts of ghostly hauntings, theories of paranormal events, and
actual cases. See photographs of haunted houses, apartments, cemeteries, mental
hospitals, and other unbelievable places.
A Ghost Registry is being developed. It is hoped that in the future,
homeowners will be able to look a house up on the registry to see if it is
haunted, before buying it.
Ghost Web
Sign up for a home study course to become a Certified Ghost Hunter. This
course includes a diploma. If you're feeling brave, you can order ghost hunting
tools which may come in handy if you're looking to meet a new friend.
Join the International Ghost Hunters Society. Ghost photos are available for
viewing for non-members. Members can enjoy the Ghost Photo Galleries; passwords
are needed to enter. While you're here, sign up for a free online weekly
newsletter and it will be delivered to your email box.
Ghosts: The Page That Goes Bump in the Night
Read true ghost stories written by webmaster, Brian. Includes Visitor Tales,
which are true accounts of ghostly sightings by everyday folk.
If you've ever had a ghostly experience yourself, write about it! Your story
will be published on the site in Tales. Other interesting areas of the site
include: Ghostly Forums and up-to-date ghostly discussions from site
visitors.
Ghost Talk is supposed to be for chatters, but apparently it is not
operating. I have made several attempts to connect, with no luck. Please note
that there is a note explaining that webmaster, Brian is away from the site
temporarily. I don't know how long he has been gone or if he will return. (Keep
this in mind if you submit a story for publication.) Despite that, it is a great
site. I learned so much.
Spirit
Learn about worldwide folklore, traditional lore, spiritualism and
psychokinesis. African, Asian, Arabic, European and American beliefs of the
afterlife are outlined at this site.
Also read field reports written by members of Spirit, and ghost stories by
readers or archived from alt.folklore.ghost-stories. This is a truly fascinating
site.
How to Create Fake Photos of Ghosts
This site is for all the doubters out there. Click to see real ghost-like
photographs. Notice I said ghost-like because the webmaster swears these people
are alive and well.
It is all done using what the pros call Bulb, Flash-Bulb and Multi-image
Photography. Read how this webmaster created these photos and how it's possible
for others to do the same. I think you will agree that anyone can make photos
appear ghostly.
BOOO!!! HA! I knew you would be spooked by the time you finished this tour. I
hope you enjoyed these ghostly sites as much as I did. Whether you go away
believing in ghosts or not, it will give you something to talk about on your
next camping trip. Marshmallow anyone?
