Sewing on the Internet
By
Charlene Wagner

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to sew. Alas, it's a lonely hobby and I don't know very many people in my immediate area who enjoy it as much as I do.

So imagine my absolute delight to find a whole community of sewers on the web, people who drool over fabric stashes and dream of owning the newest computerized model of sewing machine. They're all over the web and you need to meet some of these wonderful sewers.

THREADS ONLINE

Yes, the best sewing magazine out there is on the web! These talented people will show you methods and techniques for every project you can dream up.

Everything from fitting to design with special emphasis on the most professional looking results. A must-see for the sewing enthusiast.

ABOUT.COM SEWING

A lovely site, with over 100 links to other sites on the web. If you need to know where to go for notions, Debbie can take you there!

Join up to receive her free newsletter or stop by the bulletin board and help someone with a problem. You can even chat with other sewers every evening. Debbie adds a warm touch to everything she writes.

SEWING WORLD

The penultimate of sewing bulletin boards! Join the commons and pick the brains of some of the smartest sewers I've ever met.

There are bulletin boards for patterns and alterations, wearable art, and even a separate folder for each of the most popular types of sewing machines. Having a problem with one of your projects? Someone here will be able to help for sure!

HOME SEWING ASSOCIATION

A wonderful site with many free projects, tutorials and an emphasis on teaching the world to sew. Here you'll find instructions on sewing for the home, what tools you need, which thread to use, lots of kids projects and a special "caring and sharing" section dedicated to helping those in need of a little extra TLC.
