When not on the water angling I like to tour the internet for fishing sites. Let's start with a local site: Fred's Outdoor Page, which tours the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Things to tour on this site include an individual trip on each lake, and a fishing organization's work with children and conservation.

From this site we will go onto Gorp (Greater Outdoor Recreation Program). You can visit Peru, Arctic Canada and Zambia or have a fine excursion here in the States. Gorp tells you about the activities, regional topics, books, gear and travel.

If you are into big-fish angling, big fishing poles and big fishing reels, then you'll want to visit Blue Marlin Charters and learn about their accommodations for angling and resorts in Hawaii.

For salt water fishing, you'll want to tour the Midway Islands. You can observe the Blue Footed Boobies, find out what's running, scope out available charters or check the weather report. You may also chat, get a woman's perspective, or find out what gear you will need.

"E" Net will let you visit its Pro Staff and Guides, find the tackle necessary for the species you target, visit the marinas and receive some fishing education. Speaking of education, you can actually go to fishing school on this site.

Now let's get back to the mainland U.S.! America Outdoors will furnish an introduction, fishing news, fishing contacts, equipment to use and where to obtain the gear. They'll also tell you how and where to use the equipment.

Last but not least is Dodge Adventures, where you can find regional fishing reports, where and when the outdoor shows occur, information about conservation, and a state-by-state trip for fishing information.
